A Kitchen Built for How Granada Hills Actually Cooks
Superior Home Builders serves homeowners across Granada Hills, from the Knollwood streets to the foothill neighborhoods north of Rinaldi Street. We design and build kitchen remodels, and we also take on full home remodels, additions, and ADUs when a project grows past one room.
One team handles design, permits, and construction, so the kitchen you approve on paper is the one we build. Discuss Your Kitchen Project
Mid-Century Homes, Modern Kitchens
Granada Hills began as ranch land and grew quickly after World War II, which is why so much of the housing is mid-century. The Knollwood Country Club area and Knollwood Grove are two of the best-known examples. Kitchens from that era were often built as closed, utilitarian rooms at the back of the house, with limited counter space and little connection to the yard.
That is where most Granada Hills kitchen projects begin. Homeowners want a layout that opens toward the living area or the backyard, storage that matches how they cook today, and lighting that works at night.
Balboa Highlands deserves its own mention. The city’s planning page describes it as an Eichler tract built in 1962 to 1964, with atrium-centered homes and sliding glass doors. It became a Historic Preservation Overlay Zone (HPOZ) in 2010. If your home is in that tract, tell us early, because City Planning’s HPOZ process applies to exterior changes.
